DHAKA, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh will host the second IKF (International Kabaddi Federation) Women's Kabaddi World Cup in November, which will feature 14 teams, the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) announced here on Thursday.
Scheduled for Nov. 15 to 25 at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Dhaka's Mirpur, the list of confirmed participating teams includes Argentina, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, among others.
The IKF decided to award the hosting rights to Bangladesh after the BKF successfully organized three international tournaments.
BKF General Secretary SM Newaz Sohag said that with the supports from the IKF, Bangladesh's Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the National Sports Council, the federation aims to use this World Cup to increase the global visibility of kabaddi, which is Bangladesh's national game.
