Yahoo becomes part of Google program

Yahoo has added its name to Google's OpenSocial program, which is designed to allow applications to run on different Web sites.
The developers of OpenSocial say they are trying to compete with Facebook, which only allows applications that conform to their closed development platform.
On July 1, the organisation will be formalised, including the oversight of intellectual property.
